SUDS Summer 2026 Dive Program – Applications Now Open for Wounded Warriors

We are excited to announce that the SUDS Summer 2026 Adaptive Scuba Diving Program is now officially open for applications. This is one of our most anticipated adaptive sports seasons, with expanded dive destinations, new certified instructors joining the team, and a streamlined application process for eligible servicemembers.

Who Can Apply?

The SUDS Summer 2026 program is open to wounded, injured and ill active-duty servicemembers and veterans who are seeking therapeutic, skill-building, and community-oriented adaptive sports participation. No prior diving experience is required — our PADI-certified instructors will guide participants from first breath underwater to open-water certification.

What's New in Summer 2026

  • Two new dive destinations added to the schedule — Key Largo, FL and Cozumel, MX
  • Expanded team — three additional PADI Divemasters and two adaptive diving specialists on staff
  • Live event coverage — each trip will be documented for our video gallery and YouTube channel so families can follow along in real time
  • Sports coaching module — underwater photography and underwater navigation challenges added as skill-building activities
  • Peer mentor program — SUDS alumni divers like Eric Cowin will be available as peer mentors for first-time participants

How to Apply

To apply for the Summer 2026 SUDS Diving program, servicemembers should submit a brief expression of interest through our contact form or call us directly at (210) 303-2181. A SUDS program coordinator will respond within 48 hours to walk you through the intake process, medical clearance requirements, and gear provision.

"Every veteran who has participated in our dive program has described it as transformative. The underwater environment strips away rank, injury, and self-doubt — and what's left is pure achievement." — SUDS Program Director

Spots are extremely limited across all four sessions. Priority will be given to first-time SUDS participants, followed by returning participants who have completed at least one prior adaptive sports event.
