SUDS Virginia Beach adaptive dive trip preview June 27-29 2026

Virginia Beach: SUDS' Home Away From Home

Virginia Beach has been a SUDS dive destination since the program's earliest years. Its proximity to Joint Base Little Creek, Fort Story, and the large veteran community in Hampton Roads makes it the most logistically accessible of all SUDS dive locations — and for many participants, it's where they complete their checkout dives and earn their certification.

Event Schedule: June 27–29

  • Friday, June 27: Arrival, equipment fitting, safety briefing, and welcome dinner
  • Saturday, June 28: Two guided dives at Lesner Bridge (depth 15–25 ft) and a wreck dive at the artificial reef at Site #13 (25–35 ft). Evening: group debrief and social
  • Sunday, June 29: Optional third dive for certification checkout candidates, certification card distribution, closing ceremony

Dive Sites

Virginia Beach offers a range of sites accessible to all ability levels. Lesner Bridge is ideal for first dives — calm, shallow, and full of sea life. The Atlantic artificial reef network offers deeper structure dives for more experienced participants.
