SUDS Board Spotlight: Leadership Steering Adaptive Sports in 2026
As SUDS enters its 19th year of serving wounded, injured, and ill servicemembers through adaptive sports, the volunteer board of directors continues to expand what's possible. The 2026 season represents the most ambitious programming in SUDS history, with nine scheduled events across five adaptive sports disciplines.
2026 Priorities Set by the Board
- Expand the rock climbing program — from two to four annual climbing events, adding Rocky Mountain NP and Red River Gorge to the roster
- Add freediving components — integrate introductory freediving modules into coastal dive events
- Grow the white-water rafting program — add a second annual rafting event following demand from the 2025 season
- Improve live event coverage — invest in streaming equipment so all 2026 events have live video for families
- Increase financial transparency — publish quarterly financial updates through 2026
